Imagining Your Game

I am writing my game for people who are between 10 and 17 years old. The person who plays my game must be able to have quick reactions to the obstacles. Since my topic is about oil spills and to  the player must already know about how to time when and where the obstacle is going to let you pass by. 
My players will learn about the details of my topic, such as to take action when an oil spill happens that we need to be really to clean it up as fast as we can.
 The environment for my game will look like be in the ocean where the oil spill happen and how the animals are affected. 
This setting will add to the learning of my game by teaching students the skill they need to beat the game and how an oil spill hurts the environment.
The environment of my game will help the player learn by showing that animals get damage and the water gets polluted.
 The player will need to use their knowledge of math  in order to know how much time it has and what they might need to know how much oil was spill.
 A game is a better way of understanding my topic than a quiz because on a quiz you can guess the answer without even reading the question so I game is more challenging to play.

• The player will learn that when an oil spill happens people have to take actions quickly because if it happens where we have our fresh water and goes in an can make us sick.

  • My game is going to be in the Gulf of Mexico because there was an oil spill last year and it was the worst oil spill in the United states.It kill many aquatic life and polluted the ocean water.The setting will show you that the oil spreads out so far from the ocean so the clean up is much more harder like there are no boarders that stop the oil. 

HOW does your game world teach the player about your topic?

• What happens in the world that helps the player learn?
• How does the player use what they learned to make something happen in the game?
• They would learn to take action in the game to stop the oil spill to save the environment also to save the country some money.

• WHY is a game a better way of understanding your topic than a quiz?
• My game would be better that a quiz because you get to see drawing about an oil spill explosion which would give you a better idea about what an oil spill is.A quiz doesn't show you nothing of an oil spill because you don't have to read the questions and you can just guess whats the correct answer.  

Tempest in Crescent City

What I learn about tempest in crescent city is that a girl has lost her mom in the hurricane Katrina, and she dreams about that moment after the hurricane thing that she is going to save her mom. Also the hurricane Katrina was one of the worst hurricanes in the United States.

The game included to break the roofs because many people got stuck in the roof because they didn't have transportation or they just didn't wanted to leave.So when the hurricane hit the water levels rise and they had to move in their attic. Many people were stuck in the attic, and they couldn't get out of the attic.

I think the game design like this because in some parts there was more water and the situation was more complicated. The level ground was deeper so the water go stuck in there so the as more water comes in the more the water level will rise.

The game inspire me to help people that need help because many people lose their homes', items, and  maybe all of it. They have to live in a bad place for weeks till they clean the city with the water polluted trash around them. I would take action to help people that are in need for help to save them or to provide them supplies that they need.
Hurricane katrina

Darfur is Dying

What I learn about Darfur is Dying is that they live a hard life.That they depend in the weather, and also to be awarded of the other tribe so they won't be attack by the janaweed. The women are rapped, and the men are shoot and kill. They get water to grow crops or so they can drink it.
When you go get water you can choose  from a boy that is ten years old that can run the most but can carry the less and the older you are the more water you can get but the slower you can run.If you were caught by the janaweed if you are a girl is most likely that you will be rapped, and if your a kid you will probably be shoot or kill.Well the abilities for each is that the older you are the more water you can get and the younger that you are the less water you can get and the faster you can run.
I think to maintain camp is so you can learn what they do because you need to grow crops and give them water. Also you need the water so you can build house out of mud bricks. When you need to be awarded when the janaweeds might attack and destroy the houses or take the crops.I think also so you can learn how they live and depend on water, weather. They need supplies but when they can get them is hard for them to survive.
I think when you can write a letter to the president is because so he can take actions to help them and they can help them in supplies they need. Also so he can donated money for them so they can have a better life. On facebook to inform people how they are living with out safety and how hard it is. I think this is a great idea because many people in the United States always want to help people that are needed with anything they can to make their life's easier.
Playing the game made me feel bad because they had to do this every day so they live one more day. Kids are kill stolen, girls and women are rapped, and man are kill when they are getting water or wood for the camp.I have seen people like this and makes me want to do something to help them. Its sad that they can spend some time with each other, but they have to be worry about surviving. Also if the janaweeds are going to attack them.

Steve jobs

Steve Jobs was the founder of the company of Apple. He was the one who create the Ipod, IPhone, and the Ipad. If he hadn't done what he had done that there wouldn't computers, smart phones, and mp3s. He is also a big part of Pixar animation because he was the one who created it. I really don't know who he was, but from what I learn today from him that he is a great person. With out him we won't have many of the great items we have today. He is a great inspiration to many people, but knowing what I know now from him I think he was a great person. He inspired many people t create new items for the future.I think if I had know more about him, and who he was I think he would of been some to inspire me. He would of inspire me to make new items that could help any one in the future, and that are every advance items

Playing to Learn

What I learn in my choice of gametha is call synchronized Saviors that is about we should take care of the world because more people are living in it and there is more trash produced. The genre is good because is about pollution, but it shows what we should do to make it a cleaner place to live in. I think the game was interesting because I like that little things could be change to make it a more energy saver. What really stood out to me was how this game is very interesting, and shows you how to clean the world. I think this game is really cool to play because it shows that every change can make a difference.
What I would like to know is: How much trash is produce a week by all the people that live in Earth?

Be the Change

It made me feel good because we were helping to put mulch around the trees to make them healthy.It was good because many trees are dieing because there is no rain. What we did was to take the mulch around the trees then make is deep in the center of the tree so when it rains the water stays inside. .It makes you feel good to help the community to make it a nice and cleaner place to live in.I would like to help pick up trash that people throw in the ground,and I want to help clean that up to have less pollution in the area.I think this can help you learn that people don't really care about the planet,but we have to take care of it because it is are only home.
